This is a strange period in my life. After a failed relationship that ended a year ago, I've sat back and watched all of the relationships around me. And on some level, they are all dysfunctional and most are to the extent that the relationship itself is on the verge of collapse. And frankly, in this world, I don't see any relationships lasting. Which has got my brain spinning and asking the question, then why get into one in the first place if the end result will be immense pain and a sense of failure? There is a hopeless romantic in me that wants to believe that when the right two people get together, it's an amazing spectacle to behold. But even now I have trouble believing that Disney scenario. I am keeping my mind open to the possibility of an explosion of chemistry and living happily ever after with that person. But in the meantime, you all know that there is something that the body and the mind require. Not just sex, but simple affection and companionship. All of this has led me to believe that "Friends with Benefits" is often the best course of action. So for now, that's what I want to pursue, but my mind is always open to greater possibilities.

ABOUT MY FLING

My hypothetical "friend" would be easy-going and laid back. She would not take much too seriously. She would have a clever sense of humor and be one of these rare individuals who actually think of others before they think of themselves. She would have a good work ethic and a sturdy sense of right and wrong, but this wouldn't need to be tied to religion. But most importantly, she would be genuine, the real deal, and not these artificial phonies you see everyday now. On the physical side, it's quite simple. I would just have to be attracted to her. I won't narrow it down to this height or this hair color because I think that tends to be extremely narrow minded.
