Whenever someone asks me to tell them about myself, I am at a loss of words. Do I tell you about the business me, the man who built and lost fortunes, owned several businesses, some successfully, some not so much, but they were all an adventure. I have owned at different times, bookstores, an eating Disorder Clinic chain, An executive search firm. Many different things, I have also worked as a Spiritual guide, a massage therapist, a pastor, among many other things.
Or should I tell you about my spiritual self, that has led me on a wide range of understanding… from and herbalist, dabbling in the energies or magic of plant life, to psychic healer, or pastor, pagan. I have explored most faiths and find value in each. But ultimately I am a Christian, albeit a Liberal Christian. I have humanist leanings, and I believe in the ultimate good of Creation and Humanity. I can also be a rescuer, but I am a cautious man that often takes time to trust, but once you have my trust, it is hard to lose it.
Maybe my recreational side is what is important. I have been an avid sailor, football player and coach, snow skier, rock climber, mountain back pack enthusiast (survivor type). I still love all those things but circumstance, time, and an aging body has curtailed much of my activities, I am more likely to watch than participate these days.
I love long conversations, especially getting to know you conversations, over coffee or wine. But I must tell you I rarely drink. I have nothing against drinking, and have no moral stance on it, I just do not drink often. Same with smoking, although I must admit that I am not comfortable for very long with a smoker, and usually will not last long with someone that smokes.
I love long dates, the kind that encompass sunrise to sunset, or perhaps sunset to sunrise, including, dinners, dancing on occasion, plays movies, long walks and desserts, maybe even intimacy at some point. |
