Hmm...I can't seem to write a profile to save my life. I mean everytime I've written/rewritten it I've recieved either:
- Women emailing and asking me to send them through college, fly them back to the States from Nigeria or be "Mister Generous" and support them;
- Other women telling me I'm "too relationship minded" and need to loosen up; Or,
- Still other women say I'm too forward.
So, this last permutation was simply a frustrated rant of why bother when the caliber of 97% of the people I've met from this site is so low on the genetic chain as to suggest they are "throw-backs".
Is it really so bad to be a kind, soft-hearted, gentle man? Is it such a strain to believe that someone might actually know the rare and correct time to knuckle up? Do all men have to suffer because of the ass-holes in your past?
I believe God is a woman because I am the father of three daughters and if we are "created in (her) image" then she has a sense of humor and justice. You see as a young man I was a bit of a "player", not like a rock star but I did break a few hearts. God was snickering...
I have always placed a high priority on family and keeping peace in the home. I can't say when the change in me happened exactly but by the time I took my marraige vows nothing could have caused me to break them. Neither my ex-wife or I did. And the first time I held my oldest daughter, through the happy tears that were blinding me, I felt the breathing of the one, person that I knew would change me forever. From then on I would not cause pain in another, nor would I blow off the pain another felt. She taught me compassion.
Today, I am a very much loved, single father, looking for a person who understands the concept of "instant family" and true, passionate, crazy and, yes, life-long love. I realize most poeple have never known it, but I am willing to risk and teach the right person. Are you willing to risk and learn? |
