blah, blah, blah LOVE. blah, blah, blah ROMANCE.
Everyone writes the same crap in these personals, don't they?
Well maybe this one's a little different.
I am a professional musician who plays and writes intelligent, melodic music - Cole Porter, Gershwin, Sinatra, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, etc.
I have a few KEY loves which my significant other should share (not necessarily in this order):
1) Music (and most of the arts; painting, writing, poetry, dance, photograhy)
2) God (a daily spiritual practice of SOME sort, preferrably Christian based)
3) Charity (helping people less fortunate, fighting for justice)
4) Health (eating right, exercise, thinking positive)
5) Making love & sex (two different things, really).
I am VERY LIBERAL in some ways - and VERY CONSERVATIVE in others. I am a strong paradox. For instance:
I think about God ALL the time, yet I am not 'churchy' at all.
I believe in love, romance & bonding for life, yet I've also been in a swinging relationship before and believe sexual exploration can have its place IF DONE CORRECTLY.
I love the country, but I also love the city.
I love to stay in and cuddle, but I also love to go out and paint the town!
I can do blue jeans and rock, or tux and the symphony.
I am affectionate, super-supportive, loving and gentle - yet I can also be demanding, matter-of-fact and blunt. (I'm working on softening the edges and I'm pleased to say the work is going well). : )
I give a tremendous amount to my relationships, but I can also have high expectations in return regarding affection, kindness, loyalty, etc. I am all about depth and intimacy; spiritually, artisitically, emotionally, sexually. I am not for the faint-hearted. The rewards are great, but you have to be willing to swim in deep waters. Hey - I'm just tellin' it like it is (and how it's been told to me by others).

If you read my profile and think we have a lot in common, let's grab coffee. Chemistry is only known when two people meet the old fashioned non-technological way! I am NOT into long, drawn out emails or phone tags - I WON'T DO THEM, so don't expect them!
And I WON'T chase you down for a first date either. If I get to know you and think you're the one - YOU'LL KNOW IT - trust me. I'll come out with all guns blazin', and you probably will too. I am a very specific type of personality - we either gel, or we don't.
On first dates, I tend to be more serious than later (when I'm a complete goofball) because I've dated an AWFUL lot and don't like to waste my time with people I don't have a lot in common with or there's no chemistry. For a first date, I like a quiet coffeehouse, a walk on the beach and good conversation. This way, we get to know each other. Besides, like minds can talk for hours - if THIS clicks, everything else is secondary. The sex will always be good - but talking? A rare chemistry indeed!
