I have two sisters, Emily and Mairead, and one brother, Patrick.I read the Harry Potter series and became a fan, sent letters to the author, J. K. Rowling. For two years from the age of 11, I suffered from anorexia. J. K. Rowling sent me letters of encouragement; She is like my counsellor. I attended Cartown National School, a public primary school in Termonfeckin, until June 2004 and then moved to Our Lady's College, a Catholic school for girls, in Drogheda, County Louth, where my father was the deputy principal. In 2008, I studied speculative fiction and drama at the Centre for the Talented Youth of Ireland, a summer school for gifted teens, in Glasnevin, Dublin. While on the Harry Potter set, I was tutored for at least three hours a day. From September 2010, I attended the Institute of Education to repeat my Leaving Certificate. I have made and helped design a number of fashion accessories for the Harry Potter films, and modeled for Katrin Thomas and Ciaran Sweeney. I have also recorded an abridged audiobook version of Claire Keegan's short story Foster, and opened an exhibition for Irish artist Shauna Blanchfield. I have a tattoo of Michael Jackson's eyes on the back of my neck. My charity work includes participation with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland, in which I launched their MS Readathon fundraiser in 2010. I have also been actively involved with non-profit organization, the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA). With the HPA, I have supported same-sex marriage in Maine, took part in a webcast fundraiser, wrote an article about body image, and contributed to a fundraising book. |
